Q: How do I stop swim goggles fogging?

Do not wipe the inside of the lens — the anti-fog coating is a film that rubs off. Rinse with cool water before swimming, store dry in the case, and when the coating eventually fails, use anti-fog drops rather than saliva.

Question 1

How do I stop swim goggles fogging?

Accepted Answer

Question 2

Are compression arm sleeves useful for running?

Accepted Answer

They provide sun protection, keep muscles warm in cold conditions and reduce the sensation of arm fatigue on long efforts. The performance evidence is modest; the comfort and UV benefits are real and immediate.

Question 3

Half-finger or full-finger training gloves?

Accepted Answer

Half-finger for weights and gym work, where you want palm protection and free fingers for grip. Full-finger for cycling in cold weather, climbing approaches and anything where the knuckles need cover.

Question 4

How do I wash sports gear without wrecking it?

Accepted Answer

Cool wash, no fabric softener, air dry. Softener coats technical fabrics and destroys their wicking. Neoprene and gel-padded items should be hand washed and never tumble dried.

Question 5

Do I need different bottles for hot drinks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Only insulated stainless steel bottles rated for hot liquids should be used for them. Plastic and standard aluminium bottles are cold-liquid only, and using them for hot drinks can damage the liner.
