What a Grounding Mat Does, and What the Evidence Does — and Does Not — Show
The mechanism is simple electrical physics. The mat is a conductive surface wired to the earth pin of a grounded outlet, or to an earth rod outdoors. Contact with bare skin puts your body at the same electrical potential as ground, which measurably reduces induced AC body voltage from nearby wiring. That part is real and easy to demonstrate with a voltmeter. The health claims built on top of it — reduced inflammation, better sleep, faster recovery — rest on a small number of small studies, several funded by grounding advocates, with weak blinding. That is not the same as proven. It is not the same as disproven either. Buy this because you want to try it, not because a marketing page promised you a cure.
Key Benefits
- HONEST NOTE ON THE CLAIMS FIRST — grounding/earthing is not established science. The published research is preliminary, small-scale, and frequently conducted by parties with a commercial interest. Any store telling you this mat definitely reduces inflammation or cures insomnia is going beyond the evidence. We are not doing that.
- The electrical effect is real and measurable — connecting to earth does reduce induced body voltage from surrounding mains wiring. Whether that matters for how you feel is the open question.
- Versatile placement — 16″ x 27″ is sized to sit under a desk for bare feet, along a bed, under a yoga mat, or across a chair.
- Passive and zero-cost to run — no power draw, nothing to charge, nothing to replace. It plugs into the earth pin only.
- Low-risk to trial — properly built earthing mats connect through a high-value inline resistor, and using one is not dangerous when installed as directed.
- A prompt to sit still — plenty of users report that the real benefit is a nightly cue to lie down, put their feet down and stop. That is a genuinely useful thing, even if the mechanism is nothing more than that.
How to Use
Plug the cord into the earth/ground pin of a properly grounded outlet — this only works if your building’s wiring is correctly earthed, so if you are unsure, test the outlet with a socket tester before assuming. Place the mat where bare skin will touch it: under bare feet at a desk, under forearms, or along the bed under a sheet. Skin contact is the entire mechanism; through socks or thick clothing it does nothing. Start with 30 to 60 minutes a day. SAFETY: never insert the cord into a live or neutral socket hole, use only the earth connection and the supplied lead with its inline resistor, and do not use a grounding mat during a thunderstorm or if you have any implanted electrical medical device without asking your cardiologist. If you take anticoagulants or other medication where advocates claim grounding alters dosing needs, do not change any medication — talk to your doctor.

Care & Maintenance
Wipe with a damp cloth and water only. Do not use oils, lotions or bleach-based cleaners on the surface — they coat and insulate the conductive layer, which quietly kills the only function the mat has. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Inspect the cord and the snap connector for damage before use, and replace the lead rather than repairing it.
What’s in the Box
