Gym Bags & Storage

A gym bag is judged on two things: whether wet kit can be separated from dry, and whether it stands up on a changing room floor. Everything else is preference.

A focused collection of gym bags, drawstring sacks and storage for training kit.

What to look for

• A separate wet or shoe compartment — the single feature that makes a bag worth owning.
• Water-resistant base — changing room floors are wet.
• 25–35L — the usable range for a gym session; 40L+ is a travel bag.
• Bar-tacked strap joins — where cheap bags fail first.

Frequently asked questions

What size gym bag do I need?

25–35L covers kit, shoes, a towel and a bottle for most people. Go larger only if you carry a laptop or swim gear as well.

How do I stop a gym bag smelling?

Empty it after every session, never leave damp kit inside, and wipe the interior monthly. A cedar block or charcoal sachet helps between cleans.

Backpack or duffel?

Backpack if you walk or cycle to the gym and want your hands free. Duffel if you carry bulky kit or drive.
