Wet Kit, Dry Kit, Dirty Soles — Kept Apart
A sealed gym bag is warm, dark and humid — close to ideal conditions for bacteria and fungi to multiply on damp fabric. That is the actual source of the smell that survives a wash, and the route by which a shoe sole deposits whatever it picked up from a changing-room floor onto your clean clothes. Physical separation is the only thing that reliably prevents it. This duffel isolates footwear in its own compartment and sweat-soaked kit in a dedicated wet pocket, so the rest of the bag stays clean and dry.
Key Benefits
- Dedicated shoe compartment. Trainers go in from the outside and never share air with your clothes — the single most useful feature a gym bag can have.
- Wet pocket for damp kit. Sweaty leggings, a swimsuit or a wet towel are contained rather than soaking through into everything else on the way home.
- Carry-on and personal item sizing. Designed to work as a weekender or overnight bag as well as a gym bag, so one bag covers a trip and the training you do on it.
- Structured main compartment. Holds shape when packed, so kit doesn’t compress into an unfindable heap at the bottom.
- Genuinely dual-purpose. Presentable enough to carry into an office or a hotel lobby, not just from the car to the squat rack.
- Honest note on airline sizing. “Carry-on” and “personal item” limits differ by airline and change often. Check your carrier’s current dimensions against the bag before you fly rather than trusting the label.
How to Use
Load shoes into the external shoe compartment sole-first and zip it fully closed. Put anything damp straight into the wet pocket rather than into the main compartment — the pocket only works if you use it on the day, not when you get home. Pack the main compartment with the heaviest items low and against the back panel so the bag hangs level on the shoulder. When you get home, unpack the bag completely and leave every compartment unzipped and open to air. A wet pocket left sealed overnight is just a smaller version of the problem it was designed to solve.

Care & Maintenance
Empty and air the bag after every use, especially the wet pocket and shoe compartment. Spot clean with mild soap and a damp cloth rather than putting the bag through a washing machine, which destroys structured panels and any water-resistant coating. Let it dry fully open and away from direct heat. If the shoe compartment starts to hold odour, a little bicarbonate of soda left in it overnight, then shaken out, works better than perfumed sprays.
