Why Protein Powder Clumps — and What a Vortex Actually Fixes
When protein powder hits water, the outer particles hydrate instantly and form a gel skin around a pocket of dry powder — that’s the lump you keep finding at the bottom, and shaking harder mostly just compacts it. The fix is shear: a fast-spinning impeller drives a vortex that continuously tears those gel layers apart and pulls dry powder from the base up through the liquid. Twenty to thirty seconds of that disperses powder far more completely than a wire ball ever will, which is why the shake tastes smoother and, in practice, why you finish it.
Key Benefits
- Vortex mixing, not agitation — a motorised impeller shears clumps apart instead of bouncing a metal ball off them. Smoother shakes, especially with thick or fibre-heavy powders.
- USB rechargeable — no swapping button cells. A charge covers weeks of typical use, and it charges from the same cable and power bank as everything else in your bag.
- Leak-proof seal — the point of failure in every cheap shaker is the lid gasket. A proper seal is the difference between a gym bag and a laundry emergency.
- BPA-free Tritan body — a tough, clear copolyester that resists the cracking and clouding that kills standard plastic bottles, and doesn’t hold onto whey odour the way cheaper plastics do.
- 15oz / ~440ml — a sensible single serve — enough for a standard scoop of whey, a pre-workout or a greens powder without carrying dead weight.
- Also handles what a shaker ball can’t — instant coffee, matcha, electrolyte tablets, egg whites and salad dressing all mix properly in a vortex.
How to Use
Liquid first, powder second — always. Adding water on top of dry powder traps it under the impeller and is the single most common cause of a clumped shake. Fill to roughly two-thirds, add your scoop, close the lid until it seats, then run the mixer for 20-30 seconds. Thick, high-fibre or casein-type powders benefit from two short bursts with a five-second pause rather than one long run, which gives the gel layer time to break. Do not use with boiling or very hot liquids: heat degrades the seal, and a sealed bottle of hot liquid can build pressure. Don’t run the motor dry. Rinse it the moment you finish — this is not fussiness, it’s the difference between a bottle you’ll keep using and one that smells permanently of sour milk within a week.

Care & Maintenance
Rinse immediately after every use — dried whey is protein glue and it will not come off easily once set. For a deeper clean, fill with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid and run the mixer for ten seconds, then rinse. Never immerse the motor unit or put it in the dishwasher, and never leave a shake sitting in the bottle: milk and whey at room temperature grow bacteria fast, and that is a genuine food-safety issue, not just an odour one. Store the bottle with the lid off so it can dry inside.
