Flavoured Water With Nothing Actually Added to the Water
Most of what you call taste is not taste. The tongue detects five basic qualities; everything else — raspberry, peach, mango — is aroma, detected by receptors in the nasal cavity as air passes up from the back of your throat while you swallow. This is retronasal olfaction, and it is why food goes flat when you have a cold. This bottle exploits it directly: a scented pod sits in the airflow path, so as you draw water through the straw you also draw flavoured air across those receptors. Your brain does what it always does and fuses the two into a single perception — flavoured water. Nothing is dissolved in the water. No sugar, no sweetener, no acid, no calories, and nothing to erode tooth enamel.
Key Benefits
- Zero sugar, zero sweetener, zero calories — genuinely. Not ‘low’ or ‘diet’. The pod never touches the water, so the liquid you drink is plain water.
- Solves the real problem, which is boredom. Most people who under-drink are not confused about hydration; they just find plain water dull. Changing the sensory experience is a more honest fix than another reminder app.
- Kinder to teeth than squash or sports drinks. Flavoured drinks are usually acidic, and acid erodes enamel. Plain water is not.
- 0.8 litres in one fill. A useful chunk of a day’s intake without constantly refilling mid-session.
- Leak-proof lid with a straw. Straw drinking means you can sip without tipping your head back — practical mid-workout, on a bike, or at a desk.
- Transparent body. You can see how much you have actually drunk, which is a surprisingly effective nudge on its own.
How to Use
Insert a pod into the holder, fill with cold water, and sip through the straw with your nose unblocked — that is not a joke, the effect depends entirely on airflow reaching your nasal receptors, so if you have a cold you will taste nothing. Sip normally rather than gulping; a slower draw pulls more scented air across the receptors. Set your expectations honestly: this is a subtle, aromatic hint of flavour, not a mouthful of cordial. Some people love it and drink far more water as a result; others find it too faint and go back to squash. It is not a sports drink — it contains no electrolytes and no carbohydrate, so for long or very sweaty sessions where you need salt replacement, this is not a substitute. Pods have a finite life and fade with use; replace them when the flavour drops off.

Care & Maintenance
Hand wash the bottle, lid and straw with warm soapy water and a bottle brush — the straw is where mould gets a foothold, so clean it every day it is used and let everything dry fully separated rather than reassembling it damp. Do not put the flavour pods in the dishwasher, submerge them, or wash them: water destroys them. Avoid dishwashers and boiling water for the bottle unless the variant explicitly states it is safe, and never fill it with hot liquids.
