The Boring Component That Decides Whether Your Rig Is Safe
A daisy chain is a length of webbing sewn back on itself at intervals to create a ladder of discrete attachment loops. In an aerial or yoga hammock setup it sits between the ceiling anchor and the hammock carabiner, and it does one job: it lets you change the working height of the fabric without touching the anchor point. That matters more than it sounds, because every inch of hammock height changes which inversions, hip openers and supported backbends are possible, and re-drilling a mount is not a per-session adjustment.
Key Benefits
- Eight loops, eight heights – drop the hammock low for hip openers and supported backbends, raise it for inversions and standing work, all by moving a carabiner one loop.
- Sold as a pair, which is how rigs work – a single strap is useless for a two-point hammock. Two matched straps keep the fabric level, which is the difference between a stable seat and a hammock that dumps you sideways.
- Nylon webbing stretches slightly under load – a small amount of give takes some of the shock out of a dynamic entry, rather than transmitting it straight into the anchor.
- Works with existing mounts and carabiners – this is an extension component, not a system. It bridges the gap between whatever you already have on the ceiling and the hammock.
- Also useful for slacklining, climbing anchors and stretching – the same ladder of loops is handy anywhere you need adjustable, load-bearing attachment points.
- Compact enough to travel – the straps roll into a fist-sized bundle, so you can bring your own known-good extensions to a studio or a rented space.
How to Use
Attach the top loop to your anchor point and clip your hammock carabiner into whichever loop gives the height you want, then clip the second strap to the matching loop number on the other side so the fabric hangs level. Load the strap slowly with your bodyweight and check the loop and carabiner before committing to any inversion. Safety, and please do not skim this: aerial equipment must be hung from a genuine structural anchor – a load-rated ceiling mount fixed into a joist, a rated rigging point, or a purpose-built aerial frame. Never hang from a plasterboard ceiling, a suspended ceiling, a pull-up bar wedged in a doorframe, a pipe, or a random beam whose load rating you have not verified. Inspect every strap before every single use: run the full length through your hands and look for cuts, nicks, fraying, sun-bleaching, chemical staining or pulled stitching at the bar tacks. Retire a strap immediately if you find any of these – webbing is cheap and your spine is not. Use screwgate or locking carabiners, never snap hooks or S-hooks. Never load a daisy chain across two loops at once, as this can shock-load and rupture the stitching. Always work over a crash mat, and learn inversions with a qualified instructor before attempting them alone. The safe working load is variant dependent – check the rating on the strap and do not exceed it.

Care & Maintenance
Hand-wash in cool water with a mild, non-bleaching detergent and air-dry away from direct sunlight – UV is the main thing that silently degrades nylon webbing, and a strap that looks fine can have lost significant strength to years of sun. Never machine-wash, tumble-dry, iron or expose the webbing to solvents, bleach or acids. Store it coiled, dry and in the dark, away from sharp edges and rodents. Retire and replace any strap that has been shock-loaded, cut, burned or is showing fading and stiffness with age, regardless of how it looks.
