Fifteen Minutes, Flat on Your Back
An acupressure mat is thousands of blunt plastic points against the skin. The first minute or two is genuinely sharp. Then the sensation shifts — the sharpness fades, warmth spreads across the contact area as blood flow increases, and the back muscles let go. Most people use it lying down for 15 to 20 minutes, and a lot of them end up doing it before sleep rather than after training.
Key Benefits
- Mat plus neck pillow — covers back, shoulders and the base of the neck
- Thousands of stimulation points across the contact surface
- Encourages blood flow to tight upper back and shoulder tissue
- Widely used before sleep for winding down
- Requires nothing of you — you lie down, that’s the whole protocol
- Rolls up for storage
How to Use
Lay the mat on a firm surface — a bed is too soft to generate pressure. Lower yourself onto it slowly rather than dropping. Start with a t-shirt on for the first few sessions, then progress to bare skin. Begin at 5 minutes and build to 15 to 20. Expect sharpness for the first 1 to 2 minutes; it passes. Do not use on broken skin, if pregnant, or if you have a bleeding disorder, are on blood thinners, or have diabetic neuropathy without speaking to a doctor.
