Deep Pressure and a Steady Hum, Triggered by a Hug
Deep pressure stimulation — broad, sustained, evenly distributed weight — loads proprioceptors and pressure receptors across a wide area. The reported effect is a shift in autonomic balance toward parasympathetic activity: slower breathing, lower physiological arousal, a sense of being grounded. Low-frequency vibration adds a second, entirely predictable rhythmic input. That predictability is the point. An anxious or overstimulated nervous system is busy scanning for the unexpected; a constant, unthreatening signal gives attention somewhere neutral to rest. Squeeze the bear and the vibration starts, so the calming input arrives exactly when you seek contact.
Key Benefits
- Pressure-activated, not switch-activated: hugging or squeezing the pillow starts the vibration, so a child or adult reaching for comfort does not have to hunt for a button first.
- Deep pressure across the torso: at roughly 11 by 20 inches, the weighted body is large enough to lie across the chest, lap or shoulder and distribute weight broadly, which is what deep pressure actually requires.
- Rhythmic vibration for attentional anchoring: a steady low hum gives a restless nervous system a predictable signal to track, which many people find easier to settle against than silence.
- Plush minky cover: the soft, low-friction surface adds a tactile input of its own — texture matters a great deal to people who seek out sensory tools.
- Portable comfort object: unlike a weighted blanket it travels — it works in a car, a waiting room, a classroom corner or a bed without a production.
- Honest scope: this is a self-regulation and comfort aid. It is not a treatment for anxiety disorders, autism, ADHD or insomnia, and it does not replace therapy, medication or professional support.
How to Use
Rest the bear across your chest, lap or shoulder and hug or press it to start the vibration; hold it for as long as it feels good and let go when it does not. Most people get the most out of it during a wind-down window — the last thirty minutes before sleep, after a stressful call, or during a sensory overload episode — rather than using it continuously all evening, since the input is more noticeable when it is not constant. Pair it with slow nasal breathing (longer out-breath than in-breath) if you want the parasympathetic effect to compound. Safety and important limits: never give a weighted item to an infant or to anyone who cannot reliably move or remove it themselves, and never place it over the face, head or neck. It should sit on the chest or lap, not restrict breathing. Supervise young children with it, and do not use it as a sleep-through-the-night weighted item on the torso of a small child. Check the vibration module and seams periodically if it is used by a child. If low mood, anxiety or sleeplessness is persistent or getting worse, please talk to a professional — a comfort object is a support, not an answer.

Care & Maintenance
Spot-clean the plush with a damp cloth and mild detergent; because the pillow contains an electronic vibration module and weighted fill, do not submerge it, machine wash it or tumble-dry it unless the packaging explicitly says the cover is removable and washable. Let it air-dry fully — damp weighted fill can develop odour. Remove batteries if it will be stored for a long period, and keep it away from sharp objects that could split a seam and release fill.
