Warmer Than Stone, Tougher Than Jade
Stone gua sha tools are beautiful and they break. Drop a jade or quartz board on a bathroom floor and it’s finished. Resin doesn’t shatter, weighs less in the hand for long body sessions, and warms to skin temperature rather than staying cold — which some people much prefer, particularly on the face in winter. The technique is identical; only the material changes.
Key Benefits
- Won’t shatter if dropped — unlike jade or quartz
- Warms to skin temperature rather than staying cold
- Lighter in the hand for longer body sessions
- Contoured edges for jaw, cheekbone, neck and limbs
- Smooth polished finish that glides rather than drags
- Suits face and body
How to Use
Always apply oil first — gua sha on dry skin drags and can damage it. Hold the board almost flat, around a 15-degree angle, and stroke in one direction: outward and upward on the face, toward the heart on the body. Light pressure on the face — you are not trying to leave marks. Firmer pressure is acceptable on large muscle groups. Avoid active acne, broken skin, sunburn or varicose veins.
