The Massage Gun That Gets Used Because It’s Already in Your Bag
Percussion works through rapid mechanical oscillation: repeated pressure waves into the muscle belly raise local blood flow, apply shear force to fascia, and flood the nervous system with sensory input that temporarily raises your pain threshold. Two of the best-documented uses are time-sensitive. Used before training, a 30-60 second pass on a target muscle improves range of motion without the temporary strength drop that long static stretching can cause. Used within an hour of finishing, it blunts the onset of next-day soreness. Both windows happen at the gym, not at home three hours later — which is precisely the argument for a gun this size.
Key Benefits
- Built around the windows that matter. Pre-lift mobility and immediate post-session soreness control both happen at the gym. A gun that lives on your shelf misses both.
- Small without being weak. The 1200mAh battery drives real percussion depth, not the buzzy surface tickle of a pocket vibrator.
- LED screen with battery readout. You’ll know it’s charged before you pack it, not after you’re in the changing room.
- Four heads for four tissue types. Ball for large muscle groups, flat for quads and pecs, bullet for knots, fork to straddle the Achilles and spinal erectors without hitting bone.
- Quiet enough for a shared space. Brushless motors have made it possible to use one of these in a gym or an open-plan office without turning heads.
- Genuinely one-handed. The whole reason you reach for it on your own calves and hamstrings rather than asking someone to help.
How to Use
Pre-workout, run it over the muscle you’re about to train for 30-60 seconds on a low to medium speed — quick and light, not deep. Post-workout, slow down: glide roughly 1-2cm per second along the muscle belly, letting the tool’s own weight supply the pressure, for 60-120 seconds per muscle group. Pushing harder achieves nothing except bruising. Two minutes per muscle is the ceiling. Keep the head on soft tissue and off bone, joints, the spine, the front or sides of the neck, the kidneys, the abdomen, varicose veins, bruises and open wounds. Never use it on a fresh acute injury — that needs rest and cold, not percussion. If you’re pregnant, on blood thinners, or have a bleeding disorder, DVT, severe osteoporosis or an implanted device, speak to a clinician first.

Care & Maintenance
Wipe the body and heads down after each session, particularly if it’s been used on bare skin — never rinse it under a tap. Remove the heads occasionally and wash them in mild soapy water, drying them fully before refitting. Don’t store it in a hot car; heat is what kills lithium cells. Top the charge up every couple of months during quiet periods rather than leaving it fully flat for a long time.
