A Belt That Stays Put When You Run
Bounce is the whole problem. Every stride sends a vertical impulse through your body, and any load that isn’t firmly coupled to your skeleton lags behind it, then catches up — oscillating against you and dragging repeatedly across the same patch of skin. That is what makes a loose belt chafe and a heavy pocket slap. The fix is anatomical: worn snugly across the iliac crest — the hip bones, not the soft waist above them — the pack is coupled to the pelvis and moves as one unit with it. Same load, same run, no bounce.
Key Benefits
- Sits on bone, not on soft tissue. Worn across the hips it is held by your skeleton, which is why it stays still while a waist-height belt slides and slaps.
- Bottle holder that doesn’t swing. Fluid is heavy and mobile; an angled, secured holster keeps it from becoming a pendulum.
- Water-resistant phone pocket. Sweat is the thing that actually kills phones on long runs, and it is far more constant than rain.
- Multi-compartment layout. Keys, gels and cards separated so you are not fishing blind at kilometre 30.
- Works for cycling and hiking too. Anything where you want water and a phone accessible without a full pack.
- Unisex adjustable belt. Get the tension right — a belt that isn’t tight enough is worse than no belt at all.
How to Use
Wear it low, across the top of your hip bones, with the belt pulled snug — noticeably tighter than feels natural at standstill. Before you set off, jump on the spot: if you can hear or feel the contents shift, tighten it further or redistribute the load. Balance heavier items across the belt rather than clustering them on one side, which will drag it round as you run. On a first long run, wear it over a base layer rather than directly on skin, and dab any hot spot with anti-chafe balm early — chafing is far easier to prevent than to treat. Rinse the belt after a salty run; dried sweat crystals are abrasive and will accelerate skin irritation next time out.

Care & Maintenance
Rinse in cool water after salty or muddy runs and air-dry fully before storing — a damp belt in a kit bag will smell within a day. Hand-wash only; a washing machine will wreck the elastic and any water-resistant coating. Never tumble dry, and keep it away from radiators. Check the buckle and stitching every few months, because a belt that fails mid-run drops your phone on tarmac.
