The One Studios Actually Use
Walk into any yoga studio and the strap in the prop basket will be exactly this: woven cotton, metal D-ring buckle. Not because studios are old-fashioned, but because it’s infinitely adjustable to any length, it grips without slipping, it doesn’t stretch out over years, and it survives being used by two hundred people a week. Synthetic straps get slick with sweat. Cotton grips better the damper it gets.
Key Benefits
- Woven cotton that grips better as it gets damp, unlike slick synthetics
- Metal D-ring buckle — infinitely adjustable to any length
- Won’t stretch out over years of use
- Studio standard — durable enough for daily commercial use
- Also works as a shoulder strap for carrying a mat
- Natural material
How to Use
Thread the strap through both D-rings to form a loop, and adjust to length. For hamstring work, loop around the arch of the foot and hold the free end. For shoulder opening, hold the strap wide behind your back and lift. Never yank into a stretch — take up tension gradually and hold 30 to 60 seconds.
