Stretching & Flexibility

Flexibility improves from frequent, moderate stretching rather than occasional heroic sessions — five to ten minutes a day of held positions produces more lasting range of motion than an hour once a week. Equipment helps by letting you hold a position accurately without straining to reach it.

This collection holds 32 stretching straps, leg stretchers, back stretchers and mobility aids.

How to stretch effectively

  • Stretch warm — after training or a few minutes of movement, not cold first thing.
  • Hold 30–60 seconds — long enough for the tissue to settle, short enough to repeat.
  • Two to three rounds per position, most days.
  • Breathe out into the stretch — holding your breath keeps the muscle guarded.
  • Mild tension, never sharp pain — sharp pain is the signal to back off.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get more flexible?

Most people notice a change in three to four weeks of near-daily stretching, with meaningful change over two to three months. Consistency matters far more than intensity.

Static or dynamic stretching — which and when?

Dynamic before activity, to prepare the joint through its range. Static after, or in a separate session, when you are trying to build lasting range.

Does a back stretcher help lower back pain?

Arched back stretchers open the thoracic spine and are widely used to relieve stiffness from sitting. Introduce them gradually, and get advice first if you have osteoporosis, a disc injury, or pain radiating down a leg.
