Light, Noise and the Case for Sleeping in the Dark
Melatonin release is gated by light hitting specialised cells in the retina; even modest ambient light in the evening and overnight can suppress it and push your body clock later. Blocking light at the eye is the most direct way to remove that signal. Noise works differently – sudden sound spikes pull you up out of deep sleep whether or not you remember waking. A steady, low-level audio bed raises the noise floor so those spikes stand out less. This mask does both jobs, with a contoured eye cavity so nothing presses on your eyelids and flat speakers that disappear into the fabric.
Key Benefits
- 3D contoured eye cups. The mask domes over your eyes rather than resting on them, so you can blink freely and your lashes are not pinned. This is what separates a mask you keep on all night from one you tear off at 2am.
- Genuinely flat speakers. The drivers are thin enough to lie between your ear and the pillow, which is exactly the problem that rules out earbuds for side sleepers.
- Blocks light at the source. Removing the light signal from the retina is a far more reliable intervention than trying to darken an entire bedroom.
- Masking, not just music. Pink noise, rainfall or a podcast all work by raising the noise floor so a slammed door or a passing car does not spike you into a lighter sleep stage.
- Wireless and cable-free. Nothing to wrap around your neck when you turn over, which matters when you are half asleep.
- Travel-friendly. A plane, a hotel with thin curtains and an early sunrise are all the same problem, and this packs flat.
How to Use
Charge fully before first use, pair over Bluetooth, then set the volume with your eyes open while you are still awake – it is much easier to judge before you are drowsy. Position the speakers over your ear canals before you settle; a few millimetres makes a large difference to how much you hear. Set a sleep timer in your audio app rather than letting sound run all night, so your brain is not being fed a stimulus through the small hours. On safety and honest expectations: keep the volume as low as it can be and still do the job, because prolonged low-level audio directly against the ear for eight hours a night is a real hearing exposure. Do not wear it while charging. Do not use it in any situation where you need to hear an alarm, a smoke detector or a child, unless the volume is low enough to let those through. And do be clear-eyed – this is a sleep aid, not a treatment. If you have persistent insomnia, snore heavily or wake unrefreshed despite adequate hours, that is a conversation for a doctor, not a purchase.

Care & Maintenance
Remove the speaker modules before any cleaning if your variant allows it, then hand-wash the fabric in cool water with mild detergent and air-dry away from direct heat. Never machine-wash or tumble-dry a mask with electronics inside. Wipe the speaker housings with a barely damp cloth only. Recharge every few weeks even when it is not in use – lithium cells do not enjoy being stored flat – and stop using it if the fabric frays around the drivers.
