Vacuum Insulation, and Why the Number on the Lid Is Worth Having
Heat escapes a container three ways: conduction, convection, and radiation. A double-walled stainless flask removes the first two by pulling a vacuum between the walls — with almost no matter in the gap, there is nothing for heat to travel through — and blunts the third with a reflective inner surface. That is why a good vacuum flask keeps liquid hot for hours while its outer skin stays cool enough to hold. The temperature sensor in the lid closes the last gap in the system: instead of guessing, sipping, and scalding your lip, you tap the cap and read the number. It is a small convenience that you use every single time.
Key Benefits
- Genuinely pocket-sized at 200ml. Most ‘portable’ flasks are 500ml bricks. This is a single strong coffee or a warm drink for a commute, and it fits a coat pocket or a handbag without announcing itself.
- Temperature readout on the cap. Touch the lid and the LED shows the current temperature — useful for hot drinks, and genuinely useful if you’re preparing a drink for someone who can’t test it themselves.
- Double-walled 304/316-grade stainless steel. Food-grade steel with a vacuum layer: no plastic taste, no leaching, holds heat or cold for hours.
- Removable filter. Strains loose tea leaves, fruit or herbs, so you can brew straight into the flask and drink without a mouthful of leaf.
- Leak-resistant screw seal. Silicone-gasketed cap keeps it in a bag next to a laptop without incident, provided the gasket is seated and the cap is done up fully.
- An honest note on the display. The sensor reads the temperature at the lid, not the exact core of the liquid — expect it to be indicative and a degree or two out, not laboratory-accurate. Treat it as a reliable guide, not a calibrated instrument.
How to Use
Pre-heat or pre-chill before you fill: rinse the interior with hot water for a minute (or cold water and ice) and pour it away. This single step is the difference between a flask that holds temperature for hours and one that gives up early, because otherwise the first thing your drink does is heat the steel instead of itself. Fill to about a centimetre below the neck, seat the gasket, and screw the cap down firmly. Tap or touch the lid to read the temperature. Safety: do not fill with carbonated drinks — pressure builds in a sealed vacuum vessel and the cap can release violently. Do not put it in a microwave, an oven, a freezer, or a dishwasher. Do not leave dairy or soup sealed inside for extended periods.

Care & Maintenance
Hand wash only — dishwasher detergent and heat will kill the electronic lid and can dull the vacuum seal. Wash the body with warm soapy water and a bottle brush; wipe the lid with a barely damp cloth and never submerge it. Remove and rinse the silicone gasket regularly, because that is where odour and residue collect. Store with the cap off so the interior dries fully. Descale occasionally with a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda and warm water.
