Why Water Alone Doesn’t Rehydrate You After a Hard Session
Sweat carries salt. Depending on the person, every litre lost takes roughly half a gram to a gram and a half of sodium with it, plus smaller amounts of potassium, magnesium and chloride. Drink plain water to replace that litre and you dilute the sodium remaining in your blood; your body reads the drop in plasma osmolality as a signal to shed water, so the kidneys excrete it and you end up urinating out the drink you just had. Sodium is what makes rehydration stick — it holds fluid in the extracellular space and drives the osmotic gradient that pulls water across the gut wall into the bloodstream in the first place.
Key Benefits
- Sodium-led rehydration. The point of an electrolyte drink is not the exotic minerals on the label — it is sodium, which is what allows the water you drink to be retained rather than passed.
- Zero sugar, zero calories. Useful if you are training fasted, eating low-carb, or simply do not want to drink your calories. Read the honesty note below on what that trade-off costs you.
- Supports nerve and muscle signalling. Sodium, potassium and magnesium are the ions that carry the electrical gradient across nerve and muscle membranes. Depletion is not something to chase, but nor is it something to ignore in heat.
- Single-serve sachets. Sixteen per box, so you can throw one in a pocket, a race belt or a gym bag without carrying a tub.
- Encourages you to actually drink. A dull but real effect: flavoured fluid gets consumed in greater volume than plain water. Palatability is a hydration strategy.
- Non-GMO, per the manufacturer. Stated on the packaging; we pass that on as stated rather than dressing it up.
How to Use
Dissolve one sachet fully in roughly 300 to 500ml of water — never take the powder dry, which delivers a slug of concentrated salt to your stomach and tends to cause nausea. Sip during long or hot sessions rather than downing it all at once, and use one afterwards if you have finished a session visibly salt-crusted or have lost noticeable weight in sweat. When you actually need this: sessions beyond about 60 to 90 minutes, training in heat or humidity, heavy sweaters, and anyone doing repeated sessions in a day. When you do not: a 45-minute air-conditioned gym session. Plain water is fine, and an electrolyte drink adds nothing you need. We would rather tell you that than sell you a box you will not use. Two more honest notes. First, electrolyte drinks are widely marketed as a cure for muscle cramp, but the evidence for that is genuinely mixed — the leading explanation for exercise-associated cramping is neuromuscular fatigue, not salt loss, so do not buy this expecting cramps to vanish. Second, zero calories means zero fuel: this hydrates you, it does not power you, and for long endurance efforts you still need carbohydrate from somewhere else. Safety: if you are on a sodium-restricted diet, have kidney disease or heart failure, or take blood-pressure medication, speak to your doctor before adding a sodium supplement. Do not exceed the stated servings.

Care & Maintenance
Store the sachets in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and keep them sealed until use — the powder is hygroscopic and will clump if it takes on moisture. Once mixed, drink within the day and refrigerate if you are not finishing it promptly; a sugar-free drink is still an open bottle of water with things dissolved in it. Keep out of reach of children.
