Support, Not Treatment
We want to be direct about this one. A hernia truss is a support garment. It applies gentle pressure over an inguinal hernia to make daily activity more comfortable, and that is all it does — it does not repair a hernia, and no belt can. Hernias do not heal on their own; the only definitive treatment is surgical. A truss is something people use for comfort while awaiting surgery, or where surgery isn’t appropriate, and it should be used under medical guidance.
Key Benefits
- Removable compression pads positioned over the affected side
- Fully adjustable waist and leg straps
- Fits left, right or both sides
- Low-profile under clothing
- Breathable material for extended wear
- Washable and reusable
How to Use
Please speak with your doctor before using a truss, and follow their guidance on positioning and wear time. Fit it lying down, when the hernia is naturally reduced. It should feel supportive, never painful. Seek emergency medical care immediately if you experience sudden severe pain, a hernia that will not push back in, nausea or vomiting, or if the area becomes red or discoloured — these can indicate strangulation, which is a surgical emergency.
